How To Stay Focused And Energized On The Holidays

Staying motivated throughout the holidays can be tough, especially if you’re trying to stick to a diet. The good news is that you don’t have to work out more than once or twice a week, just the same amount as usual. These tips will help you stay on track so that you can enjoy the holidays and not feel guilty about your diet.

  • Get Moving!

Try to add some extra exercise to your day. It’s OK if it’s not every single day, but try to get in a minimum of two workouts during the week. Add 10 minutes to your walk home from work or take a long lunch and walk around the block. You’ll feel energized after getting in some extra activity, which will help you stay motivated throughout the day.

  • Schedule Your Workouts

Make sure that you schedule your workouts so that they fit into your busy schedule. If you have trouble working them in while at work, try scheduling them early in the morning before work or right after work before dinner. You might just be amazed by how many days are left in the week when you take this approach.

  • Be Creative With Your Workouts

Don’t get stuck in a rut with your workouts, especially if doing so is making it harder for you to stick with your schedule.

  • Get snacks

Be prepared for temptation by bringing snacks with you that are healthy and filled with nutrients — whole fruits and vegetables, for example; nuts or seeds; or protein bars. If you know that certain situations are likely to tempt you, bring along some extra healthy munchies just in case.

  • Establish Goals

If you don’t know where you are going, how will you know when you get there? I’m sure most of us have heard this saying before but it’s truly true. Defining your goals will help keep you focused on what is important and eliminate any distractions that may be coming your way.
