The human eye is an amazing thing. But it’s also very delicate. We know that you spend a lot of time behind a screen, and that this takes a toll on your vision. So it’s important to take little breaks and give your eyes a rest.

Here are a few tips to help you keep your eyes safe at work:

1) Try to avoid staring at screens for too long. Our phones, tablets, computers—they’re all going to cause some eye strain, no matter what. But if you find yourself rubbing your eyes a lot or feeling like they’re tired after looking at a screen for a while, it’s time to take a break and give your eyes some rest. If you have to look at something up close often in your job, consider resting your eyes every hour or so by looking somewhere else for 15 minutes or so. You can also talk to your boss about getting a pair of computer glasses made specifically for looking at screens.

2) Trim that hair! The best way to make sure your eyes stay healthy is to have good eyelash hygiene. Eyelash hygiene is simple: trim those lashes regularly! You don’t want them getting too long because then they’ll rub against the cornea, which will result in painful bacteria growth and eventually lead to loss of vision and maybe even death, which is why it’s so important to regularly trim your eyelashes… DO IT TODAY!

3) Eat foods rich in nutrients for healthy eyes, like carrots, squash, and leafy greens. The best way to eat them is raw, but if you’re at home, lightly steamed veggies are great too! Just make sure that you don’t overcook them—that can lead to loss of nutrients!

Don’t skip over safety just because it seems a little inconvenient at times. Believe me, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
