Tips, Tricks and Decisions for A Great Night’s Sleep

Tired of tossing and turning? Wish you could get to sleep faster?

Here are some tips for a great night’s sleep!

Sleep is so important. It allows our bodies to repair themselves after a long day (and if you’re a parent it allows your body to prepare for the next LONG day). Without enough sleep, our bodies can feel sluggish and we may find ourselves having trouble focusing.

1. The average adult needs 7-9 hours of sleep per night. To get this amount of sleep, it’s important that you feel comfortable in your bed. You may want to take inventory of your mattress, sheets, pillows, and blankets. If you haven’t replaced any of these items in a while, it might be time to consider upgrading them.

2. A good mattress can make a huge difference in the quality of your sleep. We recommend trying out mattresses before you buy them, but if you don’t have time for that consider buying one online that comes with a trial period. That way, if you don’t like it, you can return it within the trial period and get your money back.

3. Let an app do the work for you. There are tons of apps out there specifically designed to help you fall asleep, so you don’t have to actually count sheep (or even think about them!). Just hit the app, close your eyes, and let it send you off into dreamland in no time flat.

4. Stay away from screens before bed. The light from your phone or computer is like kryptonite when it comes to falling asleep. There’s a reason they call it “screen time,” after all! Make sure you put down your devices at least an hour before you go to bed, and instead do something relaxing like reading a book (in print) or taking a bath.

Whether your main trouble is staying asleep or waking up too early, we hope that these tips prove useful in getting a better night’s sleep every night.
