What to do when you run out of nail polish remover? Well, if this is the case, you have more options than you can think of. You can either buy nail polish remover from the shop or you could simply make your own. Chipped polish was never sexy, and it won’t become a new trend in the future. However, many people are opting for a more natural lifestyle. Here are four nail polish remover alternatives you can make at home:
Lemon
Using a slice of lemon, is a natural alternative to the toxic nail paint remover. First you need to dip your nails in lukewarm water with soap for a few minutes. This will help your nails get ready for the second step of removing the polish. Rub the lemon on your nails and use moisturizer or cuticle oil afterwards.
Vinegar and lemon juice
Vinegar is another ingredient that most of us have at home. Mix it with the same amount of lemon juice and you got yourself a natural nail polish remover. Dip your nails in lukewarm water with soap for 10-15 minutes before proceeding to remove the nail paint. Apply moisturizer and nail oil after you finished.
Alcohol
Using alcohol has more benefits than simply removing the nail paint. Alcohol has antibacterial properties, so it will help get rid of nail infections. Dip your nails in lukewarm water for a few minutes before proceeding to rub the paint off. Use moisturizer and nail oil after your are done.
Hand sanitizer
Ever since the pandemic started, most of us have hand sanitizer at home. You can use it as a nail polish remover. Add a little bit of hand sanitizer on your nails, and rub it off with a cotton disc. Repeat the process until all the nail paint comes off. After you finished, wash your hands thoroughly.
Please note to apply moisturizer or cuticule oil after using one of the natural nail polish removers above to ensure the health of your nails and skin.
