Unpredictable Weather? Here’s How To Choose An Outfit

When the weather is unpredictable, it’s hard to know what to wear. You need to be prepared for all kinds of weather, and that can make picking an outfit feel impossible.

If you want to look good no matter what the temperature is, there are a few things you should do when choosing your outfit. Here are some tips for choosing your outfit in tough conditions:

  • Dress in layers. It may be cold when you start your day, but by noon it could be warm enough to shed a layer or two. If you’re unsure what to wear, bring along an extra shirt or sweater that you can easily add or remove depending on how the day unfolds. The key is to layer thin fabrics together rather than bulky ones (i.e., a long-sleeved shirt over a short-sleeved one instead of wearing a sweater over both). This will prevent overheating while also keeping your core warm because multiple layers trap air for insulation purposes.
  • Bring a raincoat and umbrella. Even if it’s sunny outside when you leave home, there’s no guarantee that it’ll stay that way all day long. Bring along an umbrella just in case it starts raining while you’re out and about — and don’t forget to pack a raincoat if you plan on spending time outdoors during inclement weather!
  • Make sure your outfit is comfortable. No one wants to wear something that feels tight, scratchy or too hot because it was made from cheap materials. Look for fabrics that are breathable, soft and flexible enough to move in freely without feeling constricted or uncomfortable.
  • Pack light-colored clothing. Dark colors absorb heat from the sun and make us hot; light colors reflect sunlight and keep us cool. So when choosing an outfit for hot days or potentially rainy weather, stick with light colors like white, yellow and green — they’ll keep you cooler than dark ones like black or blue!
