LEGOLAND Employees to Benefit From Polk State College Pre-paid Scholarships

Employees at LEGOLAND from the Florida Resort in the U.S can benefit from prepaid scholarships to Polk State College. The Building Higher Initiative received a $30,000 initial investment from the Polk State College Foundation. It will be enough to cover tuition for those who do not benefit from another type of financial aid and work at LEGOLAND.

Polk State College made the official announcement yesterday

On the Polk State College website, the institution and LEGOLAND® Florida Resort announced that the Building Higher prepaid Scholarship Program has been extended. The President of Polk State College, Angela Garcia, declared:

This new initiative is a testament to our success as partners in creating a powerful workforce pipeline that is propelling the economic development of Polk County forward through academic and career-building opportunities.

Prepaid scholarships are the help many need for their futures

Prepaid scholarships can be the help many people need to benefit from higher education. It is not easy to pay college tuition, and eligible LEGOLAND® Florida Resort employees will be able to study at Polk College. There are several requirements the employees must have in order to be considered eligible for the scholarship. They need to work at least four full days per week; they should have at least 60 days of employment service, take a minimum of five classes per semester and maintain at least a minimum grade C for each class they take. The great news is that both full-time and part-time LEGOLAND employees are eligible.

LEGOLAND Florida celebrated its 10th birthday this year

On October 15, LEGOLAND celebrated ten years of existence as Florida’s first major theme park. Those who visited the park that day had the opportunity to learn more about Lego history and enjoy several attractions and tours prepared for the special occasion.
