Kathy Griffin: “I have cancer,” Announced The Comedian Online

We know the story of Kathy Griffin, when in 2017 she shaved her head after her sister, Joyce, was diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo chemotherapy. Her sister died in September. Her brother, Gary, also died due to cancer back in 2014. Shaving her head was a gesture of solidarity, but now she has announced that she has lung cancer.

Griffin posted on Monday on her Instagram account, sharing the devastating news. “I’ve got to tell you guys something. I have cancer. “I’m about to go into surgery to have half of my left lung removed. “Yes, I have lung cancer even though I’ve never smoked!”

She stated that her doctors are very optimistic that the cancer was caught early, in stage one, on her left lung. Doctors don’t think she’ll have to do chemotherapy or radiation and that she should get back to normal in about a month.

“It’s been a helluva four years, trying to get back to work, making you guys laugh and entertaining you, but I’m gonna be just fine,” she continued. She talks about the controversial photo shoot in which she held a fake heart, which looked like Donald Trump.

She ended the post by encouraging her fans to do routine medical checkups, and always be in control of their health.

Kathy Griffin is an actress and comedian. She is known for her reality show Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List (2005–2010). She has also released six comedy albums, and all of them received Grammy Award nominations.
