COVID-19 complications led to the death of a Florida radio personality that was well known for his anti-vaccine stances. The radio host had battled the disease for weeks before passing away. Marc Bernier was 65 and worked in a Daytona radio station. His show had many Democrat guests, but he was someone who publicly spoke against vaccines.
“It’s with great sadness that WNDB and Southern Stone Communications announce the passing of Marc Bernier, who informed and entertained listeners on WNDB for over 30 years. We kindly ask that privacy is given to Marc’s family during this time of grief,” announced News Daytona Beach on Twitter.
Conservative Florida radio host Farrel Austin Levitt, who had also been critical of the Coronavirus vaccine, succumbed to the disease on August 4. Farrel worked at WIOD in Miami and WPBR in Palm Beach, amongst other radio stations. Farrel has posted multiple posts condemning the vaccine: “why take a vax promoted by people who lied 2u all along about masks, where the virus came from, and the death toll?” as well as criticism of Anthony Fauci. It appears that Farrel changed his mind after he became infected and allegedly advised a friend to get vaccinated.
Phil Valentine, another radio personality known for his conservative opinions and vaccine criticism, also passed away after contracting COVID-19. His blog had a post criticizing vaccine mandates back in December.
“The people who instinctively believe that the government is the solution to everything are already talking vaccination mandates. This should be a personal choice. I’m not an anti-vaxxer. I’m just using common sense.”
After being infected with the virus, he also started supporting the vaccine. A public statement from his radio station mentioned that Valentine was regretting not supporting the vaccine “more vehemently.”
