Zoom is a popular video conferencing software. However, before the pandemic, it wasn’t very well known. Since March 2020, many people have started using the chat app for work or personal calls. But, as of today, the app is introducing multiplayer games.
Zoom has become a generic noun for video conferencing apps. “Hey, let me zoom you,” is an expression used for literally any other video calls app, such as Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. We have to admit that sometimes meetings are boring and very draining. The good news is that you won’t have to put Zoom in the background or use another device to kill time.
According to Stephen Totilo, the app allows users to play games while chatting. Zoom Apps is a similar platform to app stores and the place where you can find games. It was made to make the software more adaptable and, of course, make the app more enjoyable.
“I’m thrilled to see our platform vision expand through Zoom Apps and Zoom Events, as the world embraces hybrid work, empowering the workforce today and into the future,” said Eric S. Yuan, Founder and CEO of Zoom. “These innovations will enhance the ways in which we connect and collaborate with our colleagues, clients, friends, family members, and others, improving productivity and collaboration while maintaining elements of fun and well-being.”
Zoom Games
The most important question is, what games can we play on the app? LGN Poker is part of the plan. As its title, the game is about poker and is very similar to Warewolf. Ask Away is a multiplayer game where you need to answer fun questions. Just Say A Word, a guessing game and Heads Up!, a fun twist on charades.
Other 50 games were announced to be available soon, such as SurveyMonkey, DropBox and Weight Watchers.
“The Dot Collector app fosters more inclusive collaboration, transparency, and meaningful relationships among colleagues, while empowering individuals with insights that help them to unlock their full potential,” stated the official press release.
