Everyone has had a pesky body breakout at some point or another. While they’re not as outright noticeable as their facial counterparts, they can still be quite embarrassing – especially if you’re donning a bikini this summer. Body breakouts often occur on the chest and back, but can also appear on your arms, legs and even your butt.
Few things are worse than popping out of bed after a night of sleep with a new breakout. And in the warmer seasons, with more skin being exposed, those unsightly blemishes are more difficult to conceal. But there is hope! Read through our list of tips that will help prevent body breakouts from occurring and keep your skin clear all summer long:
– The first step is to identify what might be causing them. If you have just started using a new product or have changed your diet recently, try going back to the way you were doing things before and see if that helps clear up your skin. Just remember that it can take weeks for any changes to take effect, so be patient!
– Keep it clean – Washing your skin frequently helps to remove oil and bacteria that gets trapped in your pores as well as built up dead skin cells that lead to breakouts. However, be sure to use a gentle cleanser (like ours!) that won’t strip your skin of its natural oils; very drying products can actually cause more blemishes.
– Avoid touching your face. Your hands are home to all kinds of germs, and the last thing you want is those germs getting into your pores. Try to keep your hands off your face as much as possible.
– Don’t use oil-based makeup or moisturizers—they can irritate acne-prone skin. Look for products that say “noncomedogenic” on the label—it means they won’t clog pores and cause breakouts!
As a final tip, be sure to follow the instructions of your treatment products.
